Children and Family Work
I work individually with children, and with children and their families together. Work can be on a range of issues including emotional and behavioural difficulties, separation, loss, confidence, relationship difficulties, difficulties at school etc. My starting point with younger children is to meet with them and their families to try and understand the situation before making any recommendations about any further action. For more information about family therapy visit www.aft.org.uk.
I also work with parents and carers to help them to think about and manage difficulties they may be having with their children. I offer a highly specialised service to foster carers. I have training in Dynamic Dyadic Psychotherapy (www.danielhughes.org/) an approach that works on strengthening attachments between carers and children.
